Finally finished (possibly) last in the series, though I may add an epilogue with Eleanor as I have once again not included her.
Clockwise from top left: Mugambi (childhood friend of Tora), Tarzan, Jane, Tora (Tarzan and Jane's daughter, for those who don't know), Edward (Tora's husband at this point), Edward jr a.k.a. Eddie, Jane jr a.k.a. Akeli, Eleanor jr a.k.a. Etana, Stefan (Eleanor's son/Tora's nephew/Eddie, Akeli and Etana's counsin), plus Cheetah and Ungo the two dogs.
Setting is Greystoke House in Scotland. At this time Tora and her husband are Lord and Lady Greystoke (though I am still not quite settled on this detail...and am wondering if rather Tarzan and Jane would posess those titles. Tell me what you think. If you care ).
This took me ages.
If you are bothered by the fact that Tarzan and Jane still look young here, then there is a specific reason for it. I'm not going to go on about it. Just think in the direction of Atlantean crystals at the moment
Look in my resources folder in my favourites for resources used (especially the background. I never do seem to be brave enough to have a go at painting my own).
It's very hot here in England, unusually, and I must go now because I'm worried my pug is about to drop dead from the (night time!!) heat :S
This is astounding, the realism of this piece is so great! Wonderful, wonderful work and attention to detail, the background is phenominal! It is so much fun to find interesting images like this and also to see Tarzan dressed like that I really enjoy the way you styled Jane's hair and how their dress reminds me of a perfect American 1950s family!
Oh, wow! I'm really glad you enjoyed it! When I draw Tarzan and Jane nowadays I like to dress or style them differently from how they normally are, for a bit of variety! It's funny how people tend to draw their favourite characters in their original, iconic outfits all the time...I mean, I've done it too - but I don't know why really!!
Wow, this is quite the picture... I don't know if I could ever attempt such an undertaking! Everyone looks great, and I love that you have not just family, but extended family (friends) as well. Excellent work!
It was........epic. I've got a feeling I won't be trying another thing like it very soon though I am very proud of it. It was nice to get a bunch of the people who have only ever existed in my head down on paper, and have them all in eachother's company, showing their personalities etc. Thank you for your lovely encouraging comment
Yeah - only that it was like that in the t.v. series Tarzan gave Jane a diamond as a present, and then later it was put on a ring for her (seen in some promotional pictures), wheras there was never any sign of Tarzan wearing one.
I'm guessing he wouldn't have considered it very safe to wear jewellery while doing all that swinging about in trees
